Meet John
Meet John; a free-spirit, sixty-something southern guy with an extensive background in department store merchandising, and wholesale and retail sales.
While a pre-med student for a very short period of time, and a taxidermist right out of high school, he currently owns a costume business as designer and creator, is a stained glass artist, an event planner, and a festival vendor. Most of the hand made, hand decorated items you see for sale here are constructed from unique fabrics and found items, are one-of-a-kind creations and cannot be exactly reproduced. Textiles are specifically selected for texture, effect and/or period, while found items may consist of anything from estate jewelry pieces, to computer discs, chains, seashells, feathers, sequins, stones, bones, fur, and horns.
The costumes you see in the gallery section are creations made specifically for the individual wearing the costume. Some of the happiest customers are pirates and wenches at Pirate Festivals; Dukes, Duchesses, lords and ladies, faeries, elves and barbarians at Renaissance Festivals; CosPlay fantasy at CyPhaCon, SciFi, and Steam Punk Festivals; Kings, Queens, Captains, and Royal Court costumes of the Mardi Gras Festival reach sixteen feet in height and width with hundreds of feathers, yards of sequins, grosses of rhinestones, and yards of fabric. ( No glitter, John has his limits)
If you don’t see anything you like here, or would like something created specifically for you, please call! John’s creativity is limited only by your budget.
